Web of meaning

What is that?
We better ask Jeremy Lent.
He has written a book called "The pattern instinct" which has had good reviews.

The Western thought, which started with Platon, is the web of meaning that we in west live in now.
Plato wrote about the word of ideas. The material world is just a pale copy of the ideal world. Christianity continued on that path: God is above everything, but the immaterial soul connects us with heaven.
Descartes described animals as machines. Richard Dawkins does it too, anyway regarding bats. The mind, or our  thought and intellect is the key to humanism and that's what differs us from  nature and animals. We humans with souls are one thing and the nature another, so why not exploit it?

Lent want us to understand the age that we are living  in; Anthropocene. An age that search solutions for everything within technology and science: If the bees starts to disappear, why not make robot bies?
But of course Lent prefer living bees. (even if they are without souls).
As in meditation, Lent wants to unite body and soul.
He also, as in animism, wants to see the souls or spirits in nature,

He has founded "The  Liology Institute" to sketch a way out of it....
So what is then Liology?
Jeremy explains;
"A word made up from the Chinese word 'li,' which means 'the organizing principles' and 'ology' which is the Greek-derived word for 'study.'  So liology means 'the study of the organizing principles.'  You might ask: the organizing principles of what?  The answer: everything. Waves, human relationships, bodies, stock markets and consciousness. The complete set of dynamic patterns that make up our entire universe – what the traditional Chinese called the Tao.
The study of these patterns through liology is not just an intellectual exercise, but one that we engage in with our entire embodied existence. Approaching our investigation in this way, with a true reverence for the miracle of this universe and our existence within it, naturally leads us to realize and cherish the connections within us and with all the other complex systems within which we’re embedded.
The recognition that we humans are intimately connected with each other, and with every part of the world around us, is ultimately what can lead us to a sustainable civilization, one that nourishes the earth rather than viewing it as a resource for exploitation. With the climate emergency we’re currently experiencing, thinking about language may seem an oddly arcane sort of response, but at the deepest level, new neural patterning is what we need to steer our culture towards a hopeful future, one where future generations can experience the yuugen that our universe still offers."(Yuugen is a Japanese word for “an awareness of the universe that triggers emotional responses that are too mysterious and deep for words.”)

So what is the new neural pattern that is needed according to Lent?
I don't now if its new but in the end of this video he explains it;

Here it comes in text too:
"Liology sees humanity as a fractal entity within the natural system of the earth and as such, it impels us to find a sustainable way of existing on the earth in order to thrive.

Liology embraces traditional practices such as meditation and qigong/tai-chi, as well as modern techniques of interpersonal skills and energy management to develop a more integrated experience of our human connectivity.

The core values of liology are love, harmony and kindness
"Instead of the conventional search for a transcendent source of meaning, liology finds the most profound meaning in life arising from our intrinsic connectedness with every cell and integrated system within our own bodies and with every living entity in the natural world in which we are embedded."
