Is Mother Nature just chemistry and physics?
In a conversation with Yuval Harari Thomas Friedman, author and journalist, claims this,
Is he right?
Before his speaks about Mother Nature as made of chemistry etc, he imagines that he has a dialogue with her. You can hear it 13 minutes into the film.
But wait a minute; even of nature isn't a person, it's possible that she is more than materia.
She may be conscious.,
Friedman forgets something; we are a part of nature and we are conscious ( as other animals are), so at least a part of nature is conscious. And that part is beginning to understand more and more about the whole planet.
So it's not wrong to say that the planet is self-conscious.
It may repair itself from the harm it has created to itself; global warming, mass destruction o species and so on. But she is in a hurry = we are in a hurry.
Actually more we than she.
;nature will go on. About 40 million years ago, there were rainforests in the north of Canada.
Life was flourishing there. Bit the ice in the poles were gone, and so the coral reefs.
Even though the level of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere was much lower than it is today.
But it stayed on that level for more than thousand years, so the rainforest had a long time to spread.
Of course the sea level was very high too, probably high enough to drown all the coust cities in the world today.
For some reason the warm period ended and the poles begun to have ice again.
So if we can reduce the amount of carbon dioxide and methane we may have a chance to save our civilisation.
But we have to spread the words, to more and more ears and vote for politicians that is aware of the very dangerous situation. Thats least we can do for our children and and grandchildren.
People who fly a lot in the air, should be shameful but more important that politicians around the world will create powerful laws to reduce the pollution.
But in a democracy they cannot do it before we, the wouters,are aware of the situation.
And if our nearest neighbours quit flying long distance on their vacances, we will be motivated to.
And remember; if you think that you are more than chemistry and physics, Mother nature is too!
