A smell of spring on a fingertip

The first flowers, here the small ones on an elm, makes you believe in life again.
(fingertip..............................................;~)

The robin's eager song, the squirrels search for hidden nuts, the small light green sprouts on the ground and the magpies building their nests.
It's like a resurrection...after five month in some kind of half-Hades.
Every year we meet this very different seasons; Stockholm is on the same latitude as the southern part of Greenland.

Perhaps that makes us in the north aware of that everything really is changing, Nothing is constant, and  both the good and the bad times will end.

Maybe some of this is heard in the music of the Estonian composer Arvo Pärt::

Everything will fade away and everything will come again, but in slightly different forms.

When you get children, you will have the same feeling, life goes on, even you go on, but in a different form.

Thich Nhat Hanh use to say that we will live on in our actions. They will influence others and they will then be our continuations. But we will also continue in a flower and in the rain.
Anyway we all still share some genes with the Neanderthal people and for sure with Ötzi, the more than 5000 years old man found in an melting glacier in  the alps. We even all share atoms that once was in him...

Thay also points out the concept of "no coming-no going"
As you have no essence that is intact over time, you will always change and you are never really born.
Before you were "born" you were in your parents, in the sunbeams, in the water and the food your parents consumed.

But it seems that natural selection works in another way... There the individuality is more important

We are forced to try to spread our genes in some way. The most adapted ones will spread more of their genes and make it more possible for our species to survive.

 At least in past times

Something has happened. Perhaps every species try to broaden their habitat.  But our effort is extreme.
Perhaps are their alternatives.
This film from Alaska shows that it is possible for humans, wild animals  to live close: but then we should not be afraid of them...
Seems that the only alternative is that we become some kind of gardeners for the earth. If we become more peaceful, the animals will trust us more....

To make sanctuaries  and space for animals and forests, so we can learn to interact with nature in a peaceful way like this...
