Corona and Trump - just bad?

My wife helps a family where one of the members have corona and stays in one room. 

its a tough situation and even tougher it is that the father of the sick man also have the virus and is dying of it, because he is old and fragile. 

Of course Im now afraid to get the virus too, but I think I will survive it. 

Mostly elderly or sick people die of it.

But the next pandemic can be worse

The good thing is ; we now learn to fight back the next virus. And that one can be dangerous even for young people. 


About Trump it is harder to say what is good. 

Well, democracy seems to stand strong in the US and so the free press. 

In Turkey, China and even in Poland the free press is suppressed. 

Sometimes it seems that different people lives in different worlds and goes to information sources that fit their opinions. 

Qbism, an interpretation of quantum physics, is into this. 

Qbism. answer to the Schrödinger's cat thought experiment is that if you think that the cat will be dead when you open the box, it will be dead and vice versa. 

Anyway Trump seems to have the eyes of a Qbist. 


(Well Qbism is not the same as Cubism, but anyway resemble it in some way. )

David Deutsch, the English professor in physics thinks that it is possible to teach people that Trump politics is not the right way to go.  But not in a direct way, of course. How then? He doesn't quite answer it in a dialog with Martin Rees, but he thinks that knowledge can lead people in the right way. 

Maybe Trump himself has helped to share that knowledge after what happened in the congress house. 

I guess many of the republican voters learned never to vote for a person like Trump again. 

I guess that this is a kind of indirect learning that is better than to scream to them; "How could you vote for trump?"

Here is the dialog about enlightenment in our time I mentioned above. I you think Deutsch seem to be interesting you should read his two book that are very thought challenging - and optimistic.   

He is a supporter of multi universes as a solution the quantum riddles - so he doesn't believe in Qbism.

That means, Deutsch says, freedom of will is saved because if make a choice, the things we didn't choose will occur for us in another universe  - that's anyway a nice view.

Cora Diamond is a new name for me, even if she has worked as a professor in Philosophy in the states for a long time and is still  teaching at the university of Virginia, even she is over 80 years old. I think, therefore I am NOT

So Descartes was wrong. He said that he could doubt everything about himself except that he was thinking. That proved that he existed. The word "I" is the central point here. What does it mean? Perhaps we are sure that we know the answer. Is it the thoughts? In that case - where are you when you aren't thinking? Is it your job, your title? In that case - what happens if you loose your job or change job? Is it your house, your nation? Under my course to be a mindfulness instructor, the teacher, Ola Schenström, made us ask to each other; "Who are you?" Wittgenstein and Buddha -buddies?

Ludwig Wittgenstein, the famous philosopher, reflected in the posthumously published  book "Philosophical Investigations" about the picture above; Is it a hare or duck?  He meant that we make, or must make, a statement what it is. And I suppose he meant that we often or always has to interpret the world around us. But two different interpretations can both be right! Language and thoughts controls what we see.....   You can compare with the picture of a glass. Half empty or half empty?  Who decides? Yes, it's you... And whatever you say is right.  But you can be aware of what you think. That can say more of yourself than of the glass....  You can be aware of that you always do interpretations of things that happens.  If you have a pessimistic or a naive point of view, you can be aware of the view and your statements.  Buddha and Wittgenstein were both aware of that different persons uses different perspectives.  But Buddha spoke about the "right
